1. How does the White Lightning function?
White Lightning is an intelligent electronic manager run by microprocessors and a software that control the vehicle stoichiometry (air/fuel mixture), in association with the lambda probe; this allows the ideal adjustment of the fuel used ethanol/gasoline/mix), and promotes economy as well as better vehicle system performance.
2. Can the White Lightning be installed in any vehicle?
White Lightning can be installed in any vehicle with injection system and digital ignition (Multipoint/Monopoint), especially original flex vehicles.
3. How do I install White Lightning in the vehicle?
White Lightning installation is simple and is made using connectors, without cutting wires and without interfering in the vehicle originality. White Lightning is installed on the line of the injection nozzles and a wire Connected to the negative of the battery (see the Connection Diagram for better instructions).
4. Will the fuel consumption increase by using White Lightning?
No. However, it is worth mentioning that alcohol consumption is 8-12% higher than the gasoline consumption. But, if the maintenance and inspection of the vehicle is correctly made and if immediately after the product installation the vehicle maintenance is maintained, the vehicle will run without increasing the fuel consumption.
5. Is it possible to use a mixture, and ethanol or gasoline only?
Yes. This manager was developed to give the driver the option to choose any type of fuel desired to fill up the tank: 100% gasoline, 100% ethanol or a mixture.
6. Will a car fueled with ethanol lose power?
No, because ethanol is a higher octane fuel, which will deliver more horsepower.
7. Does the use of ethanol or a mixture of gas and ethanol wear out the engine parts faster?
Considering that ethanol is dryer and alkaline, it can reduce the lubrication of the engine parts due to the elimination of all impurities left by the gasoline; therefore, a premature wear of the parts may occur. However, this problem can be avoided by adding a small percentage of gasoline to ethanol (that would be the use of mixture) or use a high grade engine protectant such as MT-10 in order to lubricate these parts. In addition, it is recommended to follow a preventive and corrective maintenance routine.
8. Will the use of ethanol or a mixture cause corrosion or degradation of rubber and aluminum components?
No. Today, the cause of many corrosion problems in parts and rubber and aluminum components is the lack of constant preventive maintenance and adulterated fuel, that is, fuels that contain a blend of water, chlorine and solvent. This affects the system very badly and can be the origin of failures and increased consumption that can result in serious car problems. The clean, non adulterated ethanol will not cause any corrosion problem; it will only reduce the parts lubrication, therefore, we must add gasoline or another lubricant to ethanol to avoid these problems.
9. Is it necessary to replace vehicle parts to use ethanol or a mixture?
No. It is recommended to carry out an inspection to check the vehicle parts and its general mechanical condition. Items such as: fuel pump, injection nozzles, oil, filters, MAP sensors, Lambda probe, etc. should be inspected, however, any partor sensor near the end of its useful life should be replaced with a new one, otherwise, it will jeopardize the operation and cause excessive fuel consumption. In the case of fuel pump failure (gasoline), we recommend replacing it with an ethanol pump.
10. Does the White Lightning change the vehicle originality?
No. Its installation does not require any modification in the vehicle; therefore, its originality is maintained.
11. What are the White Lightning models?

12. What is the White Lightning warranty period?
White Lightning offers a limited five-year warranty on all of its products. The White Lightning warranty covers the operation of the conversion system and guarantees the White Lightning product to be free of defects in material and workmanship. The warranty does not apply to vehicle performance after the product is installed due to other vehicle maintenance issues unrelated to the conversion system.
WHITE LIGHTNING LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DISTRIBUTORS, AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE INSTALLATION AND USE OF ITS FLEX-FUEL CONVERSION PRODUCTS.
The warranty period commences the day the product is delivered to the original purchaser. White Lightning warrants that it will repair or replace, free of charge, any product or part which, under normal conditions of use and service, proves to be defective in material or workmanship and which is within 60 months from the date the product was delivered to the original purchaser. This warranty, however, does not cover any labor costs incurred in diagnosis of defects or removal or reinstallation of a product, nor does it cover any other consequential expenses. Please refer to your car’s Warranty from the Original Equipment Manufacturer relative to the installation and usage of after-market products. White Lightning assumes no responsibility for the loss of the Original Equipment Manufacturer warranty resulting from installation of after-market products.
To obtain performance of this warranty, purchasers should contact the White Lightning distributor from whom the product was originally purchased. In order to honor any claim, White Lightning and/or distributors will require a dated purchase receipt or other written proof that the product is within the 5-year warranty period. Further information about White Lightning warranty policy and claims may also be obtained by contacting White Lightning directly.
The White Lightning warranty is limited to the original purchaser, and is not transferable to subsequent owners of the White Lightning product. Specifically excluded from this warranty are failures caused by misuse, negligence, modification, abuse, improper application, installation, operation, or failures caused by unauthorized service of the White Lightning ethanol conversion system.
13. Will the use of White Lightning with a mixture or ethanol change the vehicle gas emissions?
White Lightning is the only bi-fuel manager on the market that is totally in compliance with the vehicle inspection gas emission standards. Tests conducted by Cetec/MG – Brazil certify that any vehicle using this manager will not exceed the gas emission permitted standards.
14. Do I have to change my gas tank?
The need to change your gas tank is a myth. Most vehicles from the early 1990's through today have tanks that are molded out of either Teflon or polymer material. Although ethanol will clean the impurities left behind from the dirty gasoline we use in our fuel systems, we recommend changing your fuel filter a couple of times and possibly the fuel pump as well until all impurities are removed. 90% of all fuel injectors are self-cleaning and the use of ethanol will only add to the cleaning nature of the fuel injectors.
15. Is there a tax credit?
In some states that have a large public need there is up to a 100% rebate for converting you car to run on ethanol. We have discovered that in Illinois there is an 80% rebate available to any that do so. If you live in Iowa a new law was passed that states that the owner of any vehicle converted to run on ethanol should contact the county treasurer to obtain a sticker that is to be placed on the windshield within 30 days of the conversion.
16. Will installing a White Lightning converter void my new car warranty?
No. Please read the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act Attached is a word doc you can link to the answer
